CLUB HISTORY

Our Club was founded as the Monterey Peninsula Republican Women's Club on November 9, 1949.

In November 1952, the Club changed its name to Monterey Bay Republican Women Federated (MBRWF) and became an affiliate member of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) and the California Federation of Republican Women (CFRW).

MBRWF was formed to provide a forum for women of the Monterey Peninsula to discuss issues, present new ideas, increase involvement in the political process through fundraising, political activism, and public service, and support efforts to elect Republican candidates. Its primary goal, however, has always been political education, educating young people about government, and encouraging Voter Registration.
